Near Death Experiences
When I was about 13 I had a near death experience and this is what happened...
I was in a pitch black tunnel slowly moving towards a bright light at the end. The light felt wonderful, and I knew that if I reached it I would die and it would feel great - like a complete release from all the tension I have from simply being alive. But as I started moving towards the light a voice said to me "Are you sure there's nothing left in your life that you wanted to do first?" It was my voice. I thought about it and realised that there were some important things, so I came back, and didn't die!
Before this experience I hadn't come across the whole 'white light at the end of a tunnel' thing before, so I wasn't influenced by other people's stories. But years later I saw a video of a born again christian saying that he rediscovered god because of a near death experience he had. When he described it, it was identical to my experience, except that for him the voice that asked him if he had anything else he wanted to do on earth was the voice of god.
For him this confirmed there was a god. But he had been brought up a christian, although had since turned against it, whereas I had been brought up an atheist, so there was no question that the voice was my own.

I find it extraordinary that you had this experience, since the same identical experience has happened to countless others. Most people (upwards of 95% according to some researchers) insist that the experience is absolute proof positive of an afterlife. You will find few adults who say it was not real.
Also, you'll want to add some of your background and your current personal beliefs, and how the experience changed you if at all.
Additionally, I have *never* in all my NDE reading (which is an embarrassingly large amount since I was trying in vain to find a way to believe in something) come across an NDE account from someone this young who denied it's reality. This is why I think you need to come forth with an official account. This is easily done by sending it to NDERF (the NDE research foundation) on the web. They *will* publish the account for all to read and it will baffle people because your account is so rare.
